The inaugural Meso-Bio-Nano (MBN) Science Forum 2026 took place from 31 August to 4 September 2026 in Oldenburg, Germany. It was jointly organised by the Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg and the MBN Research Center.
The conference brought together over 70 participants from different European countries, as well as from the United States, Cuba, India and Japan. During 4.5 conference days, international experts and young researchers discussed recent developments, exchanged ideas, and strengthened collaboration within the Meso-Bio-Nano Science community.
The MBN Science Forum 2026 focused on research topics related to several ongoing European projects coordinated by the MBN Research Center: the MSCA Doctoral Network "MultiScale phenomena in Radiation Damage" (MS-RADAM), the Staff Exchanges project "Post-irradiation multiscale dynamics of materials" (PRISMA), and the COST Innovators Grant "INnovative DIgital COntrol for 3D Nanoprinting" (INDICO). These topics are closely connected to theoretical, experimental, computational, and technological research in MBN Science and were traditionally discussed at the conference series "Dynamics of Systems on the Nanoscale" (DySoN), which were organised and led by the team of MBN Research Center during 2010-2024.
The MBN Science Forum 2026 was followed by the Inauguration meeting of the MS-RADAM Doctoral Network project, which took place in the afternoon of 4 September.
