CIG INDICO Workshop in Frankfurt

The workshop of the COST Innovators Grant project IG20129 INDICO took place on 19-20 February 2026. The meeting was organised by the MBN Research Center and held at the Frankfurt Innovation Center for Biotechnology (FIZ) in Frankfurt, Germany.

This interdisciplinary and intersectoral meeting brought together academic and industrial experts in the field of nanofabrication and nanoprocessing using focused charged particle beams. The workshop focused on discussing the current state 3D nanoprinting using focused electron and ion beams, the theoretical, experimental and technological challenges underlying these nanofabrication methods, as well as computational multiscale modelling-based solutions to these challenges.

These topics are closely related to the scope of the CIG INDICO project, which aims to develop an INnovative tool for DIgital COntrol for 3D nanoprinting with focused charged particle beams. This envisaged tool will establish a functional link between the pattern generation software currently used for FEBID and FIBID nanofabrication methods, and the fundamental knowledge of these processes based on computational multiscale modelling.
